Pharmacy Technician

The growing use of prescription medications has created a need for formal pharmacy technician training. National American University's Associate of Applied Science program provides the pharmacy education necessary to achieve pharmacy technician certification. The pharmacy technician training associate degree courses at NAU are offered in a manner that accommodates traditional students and working adults who are looking for a college where they can train to be a technician in the field. The pharmacy technician courses are designed to benefit individuals new to pharmacy and current pharmacy technicians interested in enhancing their skills and formalizing their training. Even if one day you would like to move to the next level and become a pharmacist, you can start a career in pharmacy first by working as a pharmacy tech.
Because we are dedicated to offering students a relevant education, the pharmacy technician program offered at our Bloomington, Brooklyn Center, Roseville and Sioux Falls campuses is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). For almost 70 years, ASHP has worked to improve medication use and patient safety. And with our accredited program, you can be a part of their mission as you enter the field of pharmacy technology.
